1. Explain why information system are essential to business
-Information system is essential in business establishment & companies because it
provides internal control, provides manager with tools for organizing, evaluating
& efficiency in their departments, to provide past, present, future production that helps
in decision making.

2. Define data versus information.
- Data is a raw material in the production of information.
- Information on the other hand, is facts or conclusions that have meaning within a context.

3. What is a system?
- system is an array of components that work together to achieve a common goal, by
accepting inputs, processing them, and producing outputs in an organize manner.

1. Define close versus open system
-open system, system that is capable of self-maintenance on the basis through but
of resources in the environment.
-close system, system in which the specifications are kept secret to present interference
from third parties.

software development. Consist of all the components that work together to process
date and produce information.

3. What is information map?
-it is derived from analysis of the function, activities, and transactions, to achieve its
goal and strategies such as teaching, research and governance or finance.
